BRAND CHALLENGE

The objective of the Make Play App was to build a close-knit community of the Bira brand loyalists.

Consumers of Bira 91 interact with the brand through various touch points across physical outlets and social media. But the brand lacked a channel for direct communication with its people, the consumers who loved the brand.

The purpose of the Bira 91 Make Play app was to connect and reward brand loyalists (obviously) but also convey brand messages, encourage users to explore the brand and its offerings, taste new drink flavors, and keep them engaged and build personalized relationships with them. The app allows consumers to find their fav Bira 91 beers, review beers, see events and get rewarded for checking in and sharing photos on social media.

Expanding on the visual language of  Bira 91, the iconic rainbow ring, which represents the brand's diverse range of brews, becomes a central element in the mobile app's design. the rainbow ring's dynamic and animated nature brings an element of liveliness to the app, reflecting the brand's energetic and playful personality. This interactive approach not only enhances user engagement but also reinforces the brand's identity throughout the app, creating a memorable and distinctive experience for users.

After building a complete visual identity and language for Bira's Make Play with Flavors, we extended the same into the user interface of the the Make Play with Flavors application, keeping in mind to maintain the consistency of the brand across all touch-points.

We defined an icon style which complements the Bira 91 identity and brand assets, inspired from the different divisions of the rainbow ring which is a part of the Bira 91 identity.

The Make Play App gamifies the process of earning and redeeming rewards via points and a tier system. Users can earn points on purchase of Bira 91 products through the mobile application. These points can then be redeemed for rewards across top brands within 11+ categories that include apparels, travel, F&B and more.

As soon as a user's earning crosses the 1000+ points mark, they progress to the Premier Tier whereafter earnings linked with each purchase gets doubled.
