My Companion

My Companion produced by Brijlaxmi Paper Products which in turn is owned by conglomerate Shrachi Group is a new range of notebooks in India for its more than 100 million students from elementary schools to college. Asked to design a few covers for the notebooks, we convinced the client to reconsider its complete identity.

We worked towards re-designing their identity, re-defining their product templates and defining their brand guidelines so that designs could be seamlessly continued through their various SKUs. Several simple and often overlooked product elements such as timetable, index and back panel were redesigned and simplified to enhance the user experience.

Cover Design for Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

We further partnered with the brand to design some notebook covers inspired by the spirit of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ campaign led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to take the vision of a cleaner India to the children of today. Through the ‘Swachh Bharat’ range of notebooks the brand had the power to reach out to the nation and inculcate in its youth the importance of cleanliness and sanitation. Different designs were conceptualized keeping in mind the mass target audience – from children to young adults.

AVAILABILITY Across North, Central and West India. Available in corner shops, modern trade & online stores.
PRINT RUN 1 lakh copies of each design was produced.


The brand was launching a new range of layflat note books under the name of My Companion Plus. The challenge was to differentiate the new range of layflat notebooks while maintaining the consistency of my companion templates. The white border for the brand was very well recognized in the market had become a strong component of the design language. Following the monolithic brand architecture, we developed a simple plus grid system for their layflat range.
